SPORTS: SPORTS PROGRAMME ONLINE REGISTRATION SYSTEM TO FACILITATE SEAMLESS SPORTS-RELATED TRANSACTIONS

Singaporeans can register online for sports courses, events and activities through the Singapore Sports Council's (SSC) Sports Programme Online Registration System (SPORTS).

SPORTS is designed with both public users and administrators in mind; providing both front and back-end interfaces to allow easy access for both user groups.

Members of the public can access the SPORTS database to enquire about and register for courses, events and activities. For the administrators, the office version of the Internet application allows SSC staff to carry out the necessary backroom support functions with ease and flexibility.

Highlights of SPORTS
The website for the general public is divided into three main functional areas:
• Sports for Life
Sports camps, tournaments, short introductory sports courses, and related workshops or seminars cater to the sporting needs of the general Singaporeans.

• Sports Management
Accreditation programme, seminars as well as professional courses cater to the respective needs of coaches and sports administrators alike.

• Sports Medicine & Sports Science
Sports medicine and sports science courses cater to the needs of athletes and the public.

The computerisation of SPORTS will benefit SSC and the general public in the following ways:
• Reduce human errors in the administration of the courses.

• Improve service levels and increase capacity of SSC staff to handle higher volumes of courses and users' registration.
