ORGANISATIONS' REPRESENTATIVES TRANSACT WITH GOVERNMENT AGENCIES VIA A COMMON APPLICATION SERVICE

Organisations can now authorise their employees to transact on their behalf with the Singapore Government via one platform.

This common platform, the e-Services Authorisation System (EASY), was launched in mid-October 2003. The service is available to all companies and businesses registered with the Registry of Companies (RCB), and all societies registered with the Registry of Societies (ROS).

Authentication is done using the employee's personal SingPass identification (id) and password. SingPass is a common id & password system that is issued to Singaporeans and Singapore residents. This means that authorised employees need only remember one id and password to transact with the Government, instead of many different ids and passwords.

For example, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore uses EASY to let employers grant e-filing access rights to their employees or tax agents, so that the latter can file corporate tax returns on the employers' behalf.

EASY Benefits
With EASY, government agencies no longer need to:
Issue and maintain agency-specific IDs/passwords for authorised access to their e-services;
Manage agency-specific authorisation databases

For the organisation, EASY allows:
Administrators of organisations to effect authorisation to multiple government e-services at a central location, instead of having to do so with the different agencies at multiple web sites;
An employee of an organisation needs only remember his own SingPass ID and password - and not multiple IDs and passwords - for authentication, and access to different agencies.
